4 months ago, this wood was in garbage bin,

Ready for destruction…

But it was in a different form,

It had hinges and knobs, it was doors.

They were taken down from a very old Regina house,

Which means that the tree this wood comes from,

Started his life on earth more than a century ago.

This tells you the amount of history contained in that table …

One of our followers spotted these doors in a container, and thought we could save it. It was all painted and looking old … But after hours of cleaning and preparation, what I discovered is some beautiful quarter sawn Douglas fir …

… That I just turned into this elegant table top, sitting on mat black steal legs.

I’m so delighted with this creation and so happy we could save that wood. Trees need a lot of time grow big, they are necessary to our planet. Any tree taken down should be used to its full potential and wood repurposed when possible.
